Nonprofit Academy Workshops

In partnership with the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce, we are pleased to offer another year of Nonprofit Academy Workshops! Workshops on topics including strategic planning, fundraising, and board engagement will be held quarterly. Save the date for our first workshop, Developing a Strategic Plan, on March 12, 2018, 8:30am-12:00pm. More details and registration info coming soon.

Social Impact Institute – Board Chair Roundtable

Leading as a nonprofit’s Board Chair can be a rewarding yet daunting job. A strong Board Chair plays a critical role in an organization’s success. Local nonprofit Board Chairs are invited to join our first Board Chair Roundtable, where Board Chairs will have the opportunity to learn from one another, strengthen their Board leadership skills, and explore topics such as Board roles and responsibilities, engaging your Board members, supporting your Executive Director and staff, and more.   • Cost: $60 total ($10 per month)
  • Dates: Registration opens January 10, 2019; monthly sessions beginning March, 2019

Social Impact Institute – Executive Coaching “Leading for Success”

Leading For Success offers area nonprofit leaders a highly tailored approach, through individual and group leadership coaching. Participants will explore how their leadership can yield greater personal satisfaction and organizational performance to benefit their organization’s mission and cause. Highly reviewed by past participants, Leigh Shields, principal of Leigh Shields & Associates, will coach each participant and facilitates cohort sessions, applying his extensive experience as a human resources executive in a global company and executive coaching/leadership development consultant to help participants identify and address development opportunities. Once accepted into the program, a participant can expect to dedicate between two to four hours per month in the program, including sessions and preparation.

  • Cost: $750 ($650 for organizations who have participated in previous Social Impact Institute programs)
  • Date: A new 2019-2020 coaching group is expected to begin in May 2019. More details and application coming in the future
