The Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties has released a new report detailing local nonprofit compensation data with information on organizational budget size, salaries by position, benefits, and more.

In summer 2022, the Community Foundation partnered with ARM Consulting, LLC to gather compensation data through a survey distributed to nonprofits serving Loudoun and northern Fauquier. Fifty-six local nonprofits completed the survey; the data collected is now available in the released report. The study’s aim is to explore compensation in the nonprofit community, while arming nonprofit decision makers with the information they need to better serve the public.  Contextual information regarding the size and staffing composition of local nonprofits as well as insight into future outlook for the nonprofit community can also be found in the report.

“We saw a need for nonprofits to have access to compensation data that was local to our community,” said Nicole Acosta, the Community Foundation’s Vice President of Grants and Nonprofit Programs. “Similar studies provide data regionally or statewide, but the value of local comparison was elevated as important and responds to one of the most requested data points from local nonprofit boards of directors and executive leaders.  We hope this report provides a tool for nonprofit leaders as they work to improve employee recruitment and retention and plan for scaling up their program services and executive leadership.”
