2019-2020 participants of the Strategic Planning Consortium

In this pilot program of the Community Foundation, four Loudoun-based, human-service nonprofits were recently selected to participate in the 2019-2020 Strategic Planning Consortium.  Organizations applying to participate in the program had to demonstrate that their executive staff and Boards of Directors were ready to undergo a strategic planning process and that their annual operating budgets were under $500,000.  The selected organizations will work with expert strategic planning consultants from Capacity Partners.  The four selected nonprofits participating are:

Over the next several months, these four nonprofits will work closely with their consultants from Capacity Partners who will guide their Boards through the process of setting the future strategic direction for the organization and developing strong strategic plans.

The Consortium kicked off with a half-day planning retreat held August 24, at the Claude Moore Nonprofit Training Center, facilitated by Stephanie Hanson and Kathy Stevens of Capacity Partners. Executive Directors, Board Strategic Planning Chairs, and additional Board members participated.  Participants learned about the overall process of strategic planning and began to start asking the “Big Questions” their organizations must tackle in order to set their future strategic directions.  By the program completion in spring 2020, the participating organizations will have a fully completed strategic plan document, and a plan for its implementation.

We thank 100WomenStrong and Loudoun County Government for providing funding for this program.
