Ways to Give
At the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier, we specialize in accepting a range of charitable gifts and welcome the opportunity to work closely with you and your financial advisors to ensure you benefit from the maximum tax advantages associated with our 501(c)3 public charity status. 
It’s Simple
You centralize your charitable donations by setting up a fund. This step eliminates the need to track multiple receipts for your donations and simplifies your tax filing. You can enjoy the flexibility of recommending grants to your favorite charities now, next year, or whenever you are ready. You will no longer need to rush to write checks at year end for tax purposes.
It’s Satisfying
You can leave a legacy by naming your fund after your family or in honor of a loved one. You can involve your children and grandchildren in making charitable decisions.
Outright Gifts
Gifts of cash can be hand delivered by contacting our office at (540) 687-5223 or (703) 779-3505. Or, mail your gifts to either Post Office Box 342, Leesburg, Virginia 20178 or Post Office Box 402, Middleburg, Virginia 20118
Endowed
We consider a fund fully “endowed” once it reaches $10,000 ($25,000 for a scholarship fund). However, many of our philanthropists start a new fund by creating an Acorn Fund, building to the endowed level over a five-year period. An initial gift of $2,000 or more is necessary to “seed” any of our various funds ($5,000 for scholarship).
Legacy Gifts through Bequests and Planned Giving
Gifts of closely held stock, gift annuities, charitable trusts, and life insurance are also accepted by the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier. Download our Legacy Society Online Brochure for Wills and Planned Gifts for helpful information about these gifts.
Gifts of Stock
Stock gifts are easily processed. Contact us for specifics on making a gift of stock. Please notify us when you have requested a stock transfer and provide us with the name of the security and the number of shares to be donated by contacting Amy Owen at (703) 779-3505 or (540) 687-5223.
Pass-through Gifts
The Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier can accept gifts “through” your fund for immediate grantmaking. Contact Amy Owen, (703) 779-3505 or (540) 687-5223 to let us know of your recommended grantmaking.
