Launched in 2020, the Racial Equity Framework provides a series of programs for nonprofit leaders, government service providers, and community stakeholders to address racial equity and justice in our community.
Recent programs include:
- DEIA in Your Nonprofit, a four-part learning series designed to help nonprofit leaders, staff, and board members learn more about diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) and explore ways to advance DEIA personally, professionally, and organizationally.
- The Onion Dialogues, an interactive workshop presented by Amy Owen and Tamara Copeland that helps participants learn to talk candidly about race and racism. More than 150 nonprofit professionals, community members, and business leaders have participated in The Onion Dialogues since the program was launched in 2020.
- Allyship, a workshop presented by Whitney Parnell of Service Never Sleeps that gives participants tools to become stronger allies for racial justice. Nonprofit and local government leaders were invited to participate in one of three sessions of the Allyship workshops in fall of 2020.
- Racial Equity Audits for three nonprofit organizations participated in an organizational audit of their policies and practices with a racial equity lens. Participating organizations received feedback and recommendations for strengthening racial equity efforts from professional consultant Tamara Copeland.
