The Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties kicks off Give Choose, held Tuesday, March 19, 2024, with an early giving period beginning Tuesday, March 5.
Give Choose, an annual day of online giving hosted by the Community Foundation, challenges local residents to donate to local nonprofit organizations serving Loudoun and northern Fauquier counties using www.givechoose.org. In 2023, Give Choose raised an impressive $793,618 for local nonprofits. Since its inception in 2014, Give Choose has raised over $4.2 million for charitable organizations. This year the Community Foundation seeks to reach the milestone raising $5 million total over time, an accomplishment within reach this March.
“Give Choose is our community’s largest day of giving, and we invite everyone to join in making a difference,” said Nicole Acosta, President and CEO for the Community Foundation. “Give Choose gives anyone in our community the opportunity to make an impact by making a charitable gift. Whether you donate $25, $250, or more, every donation counts towards helping our nonprofits that make our community a great place to live, work, learn and play.”
More than 160 charities serving Loudoun and Northern Fauquier are registered on www.givechoose.org, where visitors can choose from among animal welfare, environment, health, human services, education, youth, and arts and culture nonprofits during Give Choose on March 19. Donations of $10 or more can be made through the Give Choose site. Donations may be made up to two weeks in advance, during an early giving period beginning March 5. Local businesses also participate in Give Choose through sponsorships, which provide a prize pool to be awarded to participating nonprofits throughout March 19.
